Art Play & Healing

What We Offer
A creative pathway to self-discovery, emotional expression, and inner truth.
Art Healing offers a gentle yet powerful way to access what lives beneath the surface - beyond words, logic, or analysis. It provides a safe, supportive space where creative expression becomes a bridge between your inner world and conscious awareness.
This is not about artistic skill or creating something “beautiful.” It is about expression, presence, and permission.
Through guided creative processes, intuitive prompts, and compassionate facilitation, Art Healing allows you to explore emotions, experiences, patterns, and parts of yourself that may be seeking to be seen, felt, and integrated.
What is Art Healing?
Art Healing is grounded in Gestalt Art Therapy principles, supporting awareness in the present moment and honouring your unique lived experience. Rather than interpreting or analysing your artwork, the process invites curiosity, self-reflection, and embodied insight.
With your permission, intuitive guidance may be offered to help reflect what is emerging, supporting clarity and deeper understanding — always led by your own inner knowing.
Each session is entirely personalised, meeting you exactly where you are and responding to what you are currently moving through.
What to expect in a session
In a 1-hour individual Art Healing session, you may experience:
• A gentle arrival and grounding to create emotional safety
• Guided art prompts tailored to your current emotional and energetic state
• Space for intuitive, free expression using provided materials
• Reflection and discussion to support awareness and integration
• Optional inclusion of energy healing or chakra balancing as required
Art Healing supports:
• Emotional wellbeing and regulation
• Safe expression of feelings that may be difficult to verbalise
• Increased self-awareness and clarity
• Stress reduction and nervous system calming
• Confidence, self-esteem, and personal insight
• Processing life transitions, relationships, and inner patterns
By engaging the creative process, you are invited to communicate directly with your Higher Self, allowing wisdom, truth, and understanding to arise organically.
A supportive, non-judgemental space
This is a deeply respectful, non-judgemental space where there is no right or wrong outcome. You are not required to share anything you do not feel ready to share. The process honours your autonomy, pace, and lived experience.
Art Healing is suitable for those who feel:
• Emotionally overwhelmed or stuck
• Disconnected from themselves
• Curious about creative self-expression as a healing tool
• Drawn to exploring their inner world in a gentle, embodied way
The History of Art Therapy
Art Therapy has a rich and evolving history that dates back to the mid-20th century.
It emerged as a distinct therapeutic discipline, blending the worlds of art and psychology. The roots of art therapy can be traced to pioneers such as psychiatrist Carl Jung & Neurologist Sigmund Freud.
In the 1940s and 1950s, the practice gained recognition as a legitimate form of therapy, particularly in the treatment of war veterans dealing with trauma. Since then, art therapy has continued to grow and adapt, with an expanding body of research supporting its effectiveness in addressing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.
Today, it stands as a valuable and established field, providing a creative and healing pathway for individuals seeking self-expression and personal transformation.
"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls". Pablo Picasso
